#CyberSec2025Rome: Mr. Tafa: “The use of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and large network ecosystems will be decisive for our future.”

The Director General of the National Authority for Cybersecurity, Igli Tafa, participated in #CyberSec2025Rome organized by Cyber Security Italia, where he shared the challenges and priorities of Albania in protecting its cyber space, emphasizing regional threats and the need for a unified European approach.

In his speech, Mr. Tafa analyzed Albania’s strategic position in the Western Balkans, highlighting the confrontation with cyber and informational attacks from state actors. For this reason, the Albanian Government has intensified investments in cybersecurity, building a stronger defense system and reinforcing international partnerships to ensure a secure digital infrastructure.

“Our national security framework is constantly tested by actors who exploit the vulnerabilities of the digital age. The use of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and large network ecosystems will be decisive for our future,” said Mr. Tafa.

He emphasized that digital security is not only a technical necessity but a strategic commitment to national integrity, economic stability, and the protection of citizens. For this reason, Albania is determined to utilize the most advanced technologies to protect its cyber space and counter any threat to national security.

Participation in CyberSec 2025 Rome is another step in strengthening Albania’s digital resilience and building a secure cyber environment in cooperation with European and international partners.
