AKSK Representatives Participate in the ‘Albania Assessment Capstone Course – Syllabus’ Training Organized by SEI

The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of State and AKSK, conducted a five-day training this week for the staff of AKSK, AKSHI, and other national institutions involved in the risk assessment process. The program focused on equipping participants with the skills to understand, analyze, and utilize cybersecurity assessment results, aiming to identify critical risks and implement necessary security controls.

At the opening of the event, AKSK Director General Igli Tafa acknowledged the support of the U.S. Department of State and collaboration with SEI, highlighting their role in enhancing technical capacities and fostering a proactive approach to risk management. He emphasized that the outcomes of these assessments provide institutions with a clear view of their risk levels and the steps required to strengthen their security posture.

During the training, participants worked on modules covering security assessment approaches, setting assessment objectives, applying appropriate standards and techniques, interpreting results, and understanding institutional roles in implementing controls. The program concluded with the presentation of recommendations designed to help institutions fully leverage the assessments and reinforce their security processes.
