The National Cyber Security Authority organized a workshop dedicated to girls and women in the field of cybersecurity. This one-day event created an inclusive space where participants shared experiences, gained new knowledge and engaged in an interactive “Cyber Drill”, where around 30 girls tested their skills in real-life cybersecurity scenarios.
The Director of AKSK, Mr. Igli Tafa, noted the significant increase in girls choosing technology as a field of study and emphasized that cybersecurity is becoming a model of success for both genders. He underlined the necessity of increasing the presence of women and girls in this sector and encouraged them to be ambassadors of change, at a time when the demand for cybersecurity experts is greater than ever.
In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Michel Tarran, Head of the OSCE Presence in Albania, emphasized that cybersecurity is not just a technical issue, but is directly related to the protection of society, economic development and our future as citizens of the digital world. He encouraged young women to use their energy and passion to bring about change, becoming an active part in shaping a safer and more innovative future.
We thank the OSCE Presence in Albania for its support in organizing this event and for its role as an important partner of AKSK, the speakers who shared inspiring experiences, as well as all the participants who, with their energy and commitment, turned this workshop into a significant step towards empowering women and girls in cybersecurity.
