At the conclusion of the “Cyber Security Rapid Response” project, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Ambassador of the European Union to Albania, Mr. Silvio Gonzato, to the premises of the National Cyber Security Authority.
The Ambassador was received by the Director of AKSK, Mr. Igli Tafa, with whom he shared a conversation on the two-year journey of this project and on the common challenges of cybersecurity.
The project, funded by the European Union and implemented by the Estonian “e-Governance Academy”, has contributed to strengthening capacities in the field of cybersecurity and preparing institutions to face digital threats in a more sustainable and coordinated manner.
“The project has significantly contributed not only to the public and private sectors, but also to the involvement of universities and over 2000 students in building new capacities in this field,” said Mr. Tafa, thanking the European Union for its continued support.
“Cybersecurity is one of the EU’s top priorities. Our partnership with Albania is strengthening regional resilience, technical capacities and cooperation at a crucial moment,” Ambassador Gonzato stressed.
The visit concluded with a joint meeting between representatives of AKSK and AKSHI, where the need to deepen inter-institutional cooperation and advance joint efforts towards strengthening digital security in the country, with the support of the European Union, was discussed.
