The Director General of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Igli Tafa, participated in the “Hack or Treat: Cybersecurity Hackathon” event, organized by Raiffeisen Bank Albania, where young participants from various universities took part in practical cybersecurity and digital innovation challenges.
During his remarks, Tafa emphasized the importance of building a proactive cybersecurity culture, highlighting that investing in human capacities remains the foundation of every resilient digital system. He noted that education, training, and continuous skill development are key elements in addressing the fast-evolving dynamics of cybersecurity threats.
Speaking about the role of the National Cybersecurity Authority in strengthening national capacities, Tafa introduced the National Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity, an initiative designed to serve as a hub for professional development, scientific research, and innovation in the field. The Center aims to create strong collaboration bridges between public institutions, universities, and the private sector, fostering a sustainable and integrated ecosystem for the country’s digital security.
According to Tafa, this approach will not only prepare the next generation of cybersecurity experts but also establish a solid foundation of knowledge and practice that will support Albania’s transformation into a more secure and competitive digital nation in the region.
