“Digital Security Channel Bootcamp”/ Tafa: Albania Among the First Countries to Implement the eIDAS 2.0 Regulation in the Region

The Director of the National Cybersecurity Authority, Mr. Igli Tafa, participated in the “Digital Security Channel Bootcamp” activity for the Eastern Europe, Adriatic, Turkey and Greece Region, a platform organized by Entrust, which brought together partners from several European countries to discuss advanced solutions in the field of electronic identification and trusted services.

This event served as a meeting point for strengthening professional networks and exchanging experiences in an area of strategic importance. In this context, Mr. Tafa emphasized that Albania has taken extraordinary steps towards digitalization, both in the public and private sectors. He announced that, in addition to the new law on cybersecurity, the law on electronic identification and trusted services, which is built on the eIDAS 2.0 regulation, will be adopted very soon.

“With this new law, Albania is positioned as a leading country, while many European countries still operate with the old directive. This creates a favorable terrain for investments, new businesses and the development of services related to the assessment of security conformity and trusted services,” he said.

Mr. Tafa also underlined that our country is in the process of launching the European methodology and scheme for the assessment of conformity in the field of security, offering a concrete opportunity for European companies to operate in an environment where digitalization and security are now an essential part of the integrated vision of the Albanian government.
