The National Cyber Security Authority organized a workshop on cybersecurity in the 5G network, as part of its ongoing strategy for creating a safer digital environment in Albania and the region.
During the workshop, key topics such as the implementation of the European and Albanian regulatory framework for 5G technology, concrete measures for effective response to incidents and the practical use of the “5G Toolbox” instrument were addressed.
In his speech, the Director General of NCSA, Mr. Igli Tafa, emphasized the importance of concrete and practical cooperation between telecommunications companies and AKSK, considering it as a mutual and strategic benefit. He underlined the necessity of the involvement of telecommunications companies in critical infrastructure and compliance with the standards set by the authority. “It is time to create sustainable bridges of cooperation to guarantee a safe digital environment for Albania and the region,” emphasized Mr. Tafa. He also added that cybersecurity is an area where no one can remain isolated and that it is necessary to cooperate to secure not only our environment, but the entire community, city and state as a whole.
The workshop was enriched by international experts from Estonia and the Czech Republic, as well as local experts, who brought valuable experiences and perspectives for strengthening local capacities.
AKSK thanks the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy (MIE), the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority (AKEP), as well as the Cyber Balkans project funded by the European Union for their cooperation and support in the implementation of this activity.
