Development and Coordination of the ‘Open Banking’ Process in Albania: Initiative for Security and Innovation in the Financial Sector

The National Cyber ​​Security Authority in cooperation with the Albanian Association of Banks organized on May 7, 2024 the meeting on the “Open Banking” process.

𝐎pen Banking is an innovative process that will facilitate payment services for citizens through technology. The Authority brought together all stakeholders to address issues related to the “Open Banking” process, emphasizing the use of secure services provided by the qualified trusted service provider, the National Information Society Agency.

This meeting was attended by Mrs. Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Business Climate, Mr. Endrit Yzeiraj, Deputy Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Mrs. Luljeta Minxhozi, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mrs. Mirlinda Karçanaj, General Director of the National Agency of the Information Society, Mr. Ervin Koçi, General Director of the Financial Intelligence Agency, representatives of the second level banks operating in Albania as well as representatives from Fin Tech.

The purpose of the meeting was to address the issues related to the Open Banking process, and to promote the coordination of actors to enable the goal of realizing this process by June of this year.
