Cyber Attacks – NCSA Holds Meeting with Critical and Important Information Infrastructure Operators

In light of the recent geopolitical developments in the Middle East and the increased risk of cyber activities targeting Albania, as well as following the report earlier today of a cyber incident related to the email system of the Parliament of Albania, the National Cyber Security Authority held a series of meetings with representatives of critical and important information infrastructures in the country, focusing on increasing vigilance and strengthening protective measures.

In his remarks, the Acting Director General of NCSA, Saimir Kapllani, emphasized that enhancing vigilance and institutional preparedness is essential. He underlined the importance of close cooperation between institutions and the timely reporting of any suspicious cases, stressing that NCSA remains in continuous support of operators through coordination, threat analysis, and the sharing of information and technical expertise.

During the meetings, the importance of continuous monitoring of systems and networks, the verification of any suspicious activity, and the immediate response to potential alerts was highlighted. Meanwhile, regarding the cyber incident affecting the Parliament of Albania, the National Cyber Security Authority has established a working group to analyze the case, with teams currently on site conducting technical analysis and taking the necessary steps in response to the situation.
