A Consultative Meeting is Held on the Draft Law “On Electronic Identification, Trust Services and Digital Identity Portfolio”

As part of the drafting process of the draft law “On electronic identification, trusted services and digital identity portfolio”, the National Cybersecurity Authority held a series of consultation meetings with representatives from the financial, fintech and microfinance sectors, with trusted service providers, as well as with public institutions that provide digital services and are expected to be parties involved in the implementation of this law.

The new draft law aims to modernize the existing legal framework for electronic identification and trusted services, fully aligning it with the European Union’s eIDAS regulation. It provides for the creation of a complete regulatory framework for electronic identification, the introduction of the digital identity portfolio as a new, secure and interoperable tool for citizens and institutions, as well as the expansion of trusted services, including electronic signature, sealing, archiving and verification of digital data.

The digital identity wallet, conceived as an innovation in this draft law, will enable citizens to securely store and share their personal data, sign and seal documents electronically, access public and private services both domestically and internationally, and manage their digital interactions with full transparency and control.

These consultations aimed to gather opinions, comments, and concrete suggestions from stakeholders to help improve the final draft and ensure its practical applicability. The contributions received during this process will serve as an added value for building a reliable, functional, and compliant legal framework with technological developments and European standards.
