Under the initiative of the Hungarian presidency, the Western Balkans were invited to participate in the “European CS Capacity Building Conference,” which took place in Hungary. The panel dedicated to the Western Balkans focused on cyber diplomacy capacities, encouraging dialogue and cooperation to strengthen cyber security in the region.
The Horizontal Working Group in Cybersecurity of the Council of the EU invited for the first time the economies of the Western Balkans to a meeting. Albania had the opportunity to present its rapid advancement in legal reforms, technological advances and human capacity development in the field of cyber security. The presentation before the 27 member countries opened a new window of communication and cooperation in this field.
The National Cyber Security Authority participated in the regional conference “Shaping Tomorrow: The Impact of AI on Future Generations”. This conference was organized by Rit Kosovo in collaboration with the Special Competitive Studies Project on October 17, 2024, which brought together professionals and young people to discuss the impact of AI on future generations.
From 2 to 5 September 2024, NCSA participated in the “Conference on the Underground Economy 2024” in Strasbourg, organized by the Council of Europe and Team Cymru. The conference focused on:
-Increasing awareness of threats and initiatives in the investigation of cybercrimes.
-New challenges in the underground economy and digital evidence collection techniques.
-Developments in information technology and security measures for law enforcement agencies.
-Strengthening cooperation between professionals and agencies for the fight against cybercrime.
-Improving the exchange of information between government agencies and the private sector at the national and international level.
